I have bought this moisturizer as well as many other Jack Black products at least a dozen times in the past purchasing from Sephora and most recently, online directly from Jack Black Canada. To this point, I have had no issues with any of the products I have purchased. Having spent over $90 on two small bottles of Clean Break Oil-Free Moisturizer, one would expect a quality product.
The issue I have with my recent purchase is when using the first bottle, I found that it has an awful, old, musty scent when applied to my face. I tried the second bottle the next day and found the same results leaving them both unusable. The moisturizer presents as if they are both very old, expired product.
I did write to [****] on 5 April, 2025 with my concerns about the moisturizer. In that email, I had attached a picture of the bottom of the two containers showing the lot number of them hoping it will help in case this is an issue with an entire lot of the product. The lot number is the same on both bottles and is 24256L1280.
It has now been 10 days and there has been no response whatsoever which has left me even more disappointed and angry. I will certainly not be purchasing any further products from Jack Black unless there is rectification of the situation.
I should have started using this year’s ago.
I love the way it makes my skin feel and have definitely noticed an improvement when I look in the mirror.
There are ingredients on the box which are not declared here or Sephora.com, including Polysorbate 60. I thought it would be fungal acne safe but it’s not.
